PolicyInsure is a B2B platform that serves as a marketplace for insurance agents to compare and sell policies from various insurers in India. The primary goal of the project was to automate and build an intuitive experience for the insurance agents, thereby enabling them to provide a seamless experience for their customers to access their policies easily anytime, anywhere. As a design manager, my role was to build a design system for the agent portal. I was responsible for creating the UI Kit and developing the themes along with my designer, Mohan, at my agency, Alfheimr Tech.

Results

After launching the new dashboard, we saw a significant improvement in the efficiency of the insurance agents. The time spent on manual tasks was reduced by 40%, allowing them to focus more on customer service and sales.

The user-friendly design led to a 50% increase in the usage of the dashboard, indicating that agents found it easier to manage their clients and policies.

The policy renewal feature resulted in a 30% increase in timely renewals, ensuring that no renewals were missed. Furthermore, customer satisfaction scores increased by 25%, suggesting that the seamless experience provided by the agents translated into a better experience for their customers.

Research

To understand the needs and pain points of the insurance agents, we conducted a series of interviews with a diverse group of agents. We discovered that agents were spending a significant amount of time on manual tasks such as comparing policies and managing client information. They also expressed a need for a more intuitive and user-friendly dashboard.

Goal 1

Maintaining Customer Database: To create a system that allows agents to easily manage and access their customer database.

Goal 2

Policy Renewal Indications: To design a feature that alerts agents when a policy is due for renewal, ensuring that no renewals are missed.

Goal 3

Dashboard for Earnings: To provide a clear and concise overview of the agent's total earnings from policy sales.


Fetch Insurances from Market Providers: To integrate with various market providers like Bajaj Finserv, Digit, and more, allowing agents to fetch and compare policies from these providers.

Testing

We conducted usability testing with a group of insurance agents to gather feedback on the new dashboard. The agents found the new dashboard to be significantly more intuitive and user-friendly compared to the old system. They particularly appreciated the automated features and the mobile-friendly design.

💎 Learnings

This project reinforced the importance of user-centered design and iterative development. By involving the agents in the design process and continuously incorporating their feedback, we were able to create a product that truly met their needs. The project also highlighted the potential of automation in improving efficiency and user satisfaction.
